Ronnie Gilbert: A Radical Life with Song
MUSE fundraiser
Two Shows: November 7 and 8, 2009

Famed folksinger, actor and activist Ronnie Gilbert will read from her memoir "A Radical Life with Song" at the Matheson Performing Art Center in Mendocino on Saturday November 7th, at 7pm, and again on Sunday November 8th, at 3pm.

“A Radical Life with Song" is an autobiographical song/talk for cross-generational communities that includes stories from her childhood, from The Weavers, including their being blacklisted during the anti-communist hysteria of the McCarthy era, and more, interspersed with bits of songs from her life. The Matheson Performing Arts Center is located east of the High School in Mendocino, at the intersection of Ford and Cahto Streets.

Tickets are available for $20 at Harvest Market in Fort Bragg, and at the Mendocino Jewelry Studio (on Main Street near Kasten) in Mendocino. There is limited seating available, so advance tickets are recommended.

50th Annual Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Fair of Mendocino
Hosted by MUSE, located at the Mendocino Recreation Center
November 27 and 28, 2009
Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving

The tradition continues in a new location -- the Mendocino Rec Center-- as forty juried artists and craftspeople from throughout Northern California will exhibit original handmade artwork in all media.

The two-day holiday marketplace provides residents and visitors a pleasant alternative to hectic, stressful mall shopping. Each year the fair showcases a wide array of unique, high quality artwork and gift items, including stained, fused and engraved glass; enameled, gold and mixed metal jewelry; original paintings and photographs; functional and decorative ceramics; sculptural work, wearable fiber art, and local art books.

The booths will be set up at the Mendocino Recreation Center from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.
